Visitor arrivals in Macao soar 480.5 pct on year in June
MACAO, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Visitor arrivals in Macao surged 480.5 percent year on year to 2,209,662 in June, the Macao Special Administrative Region's (SAR) statistical agency said on Wednesday.
However, the figure represented a slight drop of 0.2 percent month-on-month, showed the latest report from the Statistics and Census Service.
Overnight visitors and same-day visitors soared 543.7 percent and 423.3 percent year on year to 1,163,784 and 1,045,878, respectively.
The number of visitors from the Chinese mainland jumped by 329.4 percent year on year to 1,444,933, while visitors from China's Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan region rocketed by 1,446.9 percent and 734.6 percent year on year to 601,663 and 42,964, respectively. ■
